Build A Website That Works
Nearly everyone nowadays is using the internet to find information, buy stuff, and the smart businessman/woman are using it to build a website to sell stuff. The biggest benefit to building a website is the fact that the people who visit your site are interested in what you have to sell. Unlike a flyer that you send out to hundreds just to get one sale, (where you had to spend your hard earned money to find them) they came looking for you. This is what those in the marketing business call a warm lead – someone who is already interested in what you have to offer. A website gives you the chance to focus on your business, while the customers find you. But I don’t anything about building a website.
Well, neither did I and you found me.There are a couple routes you could take to get your website off the ground and running. The first would be to hire someone to build one for you. This is the most expensive option. You can spend thousands of dollars to get a professionally built website. Simply let the webmaster know what you would like your site to look like, how you want it to read, and hand them a check. Bada-Bing. You’ve got a website for your business. Does that money you spent guarantee anyone will find your site? Well, not really. So if no one finds it you’ve basically got a site that cost you thousands but is worthless to your business. On the other side of the spectrum you could build your own website using one of the simple to use “free” site builders but again these don’t get you anyone will find you. Most are just promotional offers to try and get you to upgrade to a different version of their site builder with a price tag. And still if you don’t know what you’re doing you’ll essentially have a website that gets little to no traffic. The best option I’ve come across (and the one I used to build this website) is Site Build It. Site Build It is a site building software with so much more. Even with no experience at building a website you can make a professional looking website for your business. When you compare it some of the “free” site builders you can see the advantages. Even webmasters are seeing the advantages of Site Build It over traditional methods of building a website. But there is still the question of traffic. Will anyone actually find your site?
How do you get traffic?
Traffic is the lifeline of any of any web business. Traffic is basically the same thing as someone looking through your store window, seeing something that interests them, and walking through the door to find out more. If your store is in the right location you can attract a lot of customers. In the real estate business they say the most important thing is “location, location, location”. Well on the web it’s “information, information, information”. Without information you get no traffic and you simply have a nice looking website that never gets seen. You may as well have a store in the middle of the desert. But with so many sites out on the web how can your website compete.There are different ways to go about getting traffic. One of which is paying for it. The other way is to generate free traffic for yourself. First, the paid traffic. You can pay for advertising on other sites or more commonly on search engines such as Google or Yahoo. These search engines use a method which you bid on certain keywords that pertain to your site and when people search these words your site will come up as a sponsored link at the top of there results page. If the visitor clicks on your link you pay the search engine the amount you happened to bid. This is called the PPC (pay-per-click) model of advertising and the cost can add up quick. Another method for getting traffic is the SEO (search engine optimizer) method. People have made a business out of researching how the big search engines decide which websites will be shown on the result page when a visitor completes a search. They then optimize there method and sell it to webmasters so their website will be at the top of the list. This makes your site readily available to customers looking for what they think is a good match for the information or product they were looking for. What they find is a gimmick used by your site to attract visitors. The result is a is that they click back to the search engine only spending a few seconds at your site and find something more suitable. The search engine tracks this and as a result punishes you for using gimmicks (drops you down the list). Search engines make their money by giving searchers what they are looking for – quality sites. Not gimmicks. As a result they are constantly changing the methods of coming up with these results and SEOs have to constantly keep up with these methods. As a result you have to keep up with the SEOs and change your site accordingly. The only real method for getting free traffic is by "keeping it real". Give the visitor what they are looking for – information. Ken Envoy, president of Site Build It developed a method that not only gets traffic but also gets the sale. It is called the C>T>P>M Process. This method results in 62% of Site Build It users making the top 3%, 53% making the top 2%, and 35% making the top 1% of ranked websites out of over 56 million sites on the web today. If you build your website using this method you will not only receive a stream of free traffic from the search engines, but you will have customers contacting you to buy your products or services.
Content
People using the search engines are not searching for you they are searching for information. So give them what they want. Use your knowledge to build a web site with content they can use.
Traffic
Because, you built a website that didn’t use “gimmicks” to try and fool visitors to come to your site, you used relevant content, search engines will reward you with high rankings on their results page. The result is happy visitors that trust you.
PREsell
This is the part that most people screw up. They automatically try and get the sale with out getting the visitors trust. Who would you be more likely to buy from someone you don’t know who automatically tries to sell you something or someone you’ve gotten to know and has proven that they are an expert on the subject? Of course most of us would agree it is the proven expert we would buy from. We trust them. They first proved that they had a quality product or service.
Monetize
Only after you have completed the first three steps of the process do you go for the sale. If you have done it correctly the warm, willing-to-buy customer contacts you.
